My friend is 66 years old and has recently had a mild stroke. She is not a smoker, is not overweight and is fit and healthy. Her Doctor has said she is fine to travel on a short flight (Spain) but she has to have CT Scan (repeat) and is on a Warfarin type tablet. How do we go about trying to get her Travel Insurance. She has an EHIC card so in Spain Medical Insurance is not a problem but is more concerned that if she does have a problem she would want repatriation.

It’s very important to check fine print. I’m surprised when I speak to friends, who are mostly over 65, they don’t check the T&Cs on their travel insurance policy only to find out they must pay a high excess if they make a claim.
